Mercedes W202 Specifications
The name Mercedes is a name of luxury, comfort, and style. They have been in the market for almost a century. The first production and launch of their vehicle were back in 1926. After that, they never had to look back, and their fame reached the sky.
By 2018, Mercedes will become the largest and number one vehicle manufacturer. Every year they produce and market thousands of vehicles all over the world. Amazingly, all of their series and model have the best features and up-to-date technology that the buyers or the users find fascinating.
The Mercedes W202 is the internal designation for a compact sedan. Mercedes started producing this car back in 1993, and with tremendous success, they continued with it till 2000. Specifically, this model is the first generation of C glass. The manufacturer started planning for this series in 1986 as a replacement for the 190 series.
After that, they designed it in 1987 under Bruno Sacco, and the first scale model was made within a year. However, they chose Olivier Boulay’s design and froze the factory production in 1990 by testing a rough prototype back in 1989. One can say the production of this model was quite a drama. The Mercedes want nothing but perfection from this series. From below, let’s know more about the car.
Engine
These series have made history with their complete lineup engine of multi-valves. The four-cylinder engine called M111 gets quite a change over time. They have a start C 180 engine with a 1.8L capacity and 122 PS. Also, the engine had 120 HP horsepower along with 90kW torque. After that, the second engine in the row was the C 200.
That engine had a 2.0L capacity with 130 PS. Specifically, the horsepower of this engine was 134 HP with 100 kW torque. Thirdly, they have that C220 engine of 2.2L and PS of 150. Also, that engine had 110 kW torque along with 148 HP horsepower.
However, in 1997 the C220 was replaced by the C230, and it was the last update of that series on their engine. It had 2.3L displacement but the same output. Though those petrol engines were impactful, the C280 was the high-end model of this series.
Moreover, the diesel engine of this series was quite a deal and had great popularity. People used to choose the engine type according to the fuel availability of their area. Because one will not find major differences between these two fuels

Transmission
Originally, the Mercedes W202 of Germany came with a manual 5-speed transmission. Also, it had a 4-speed automatic transmission option. One could choose any of these two options separately. However, in 1996 they replaced the 4-speed automatic transmission with a 5-speed automatic transmission. After that, in the last edition of this model, they changed the old one with a 6-speed manual transmission.

Top Speed
The top speed is an issue for the young generation as well as its safe fuel. In some cases, because of the top speed, the car can cover mileage with less fuel. The C180 model of this series could go to 193 km/h or 120 mph within 12 seconds. After that, the C200 series could rise to 203 km/h or 126 mph within 11 seconds. Moreover, the top speed continued rising with each update of petrol car of this series.
However, the diesel car of this series seems to have less speed than the petrol one. The lowest top speed of the diesel-powered one is 160 km/h, and the highest was 203 km/h, which is lower than the other option.
Body Type
The body type or the body style of the car is its physical appearance. When one buys a car, they give at least half of their priority to its physical look. As with the Mercedes 202, one will get two types of body. One is a 4-door sedan, and the other is a 4-door station wagon. Both of the cards are five seaters. Two-seat are in the front, and three are in the back.
Fuel Economy
The fuel economy of this series is better with petrol than diesel. One will get 21.38 US mpg for every 100 km in the city. Also, one will get 36.75 US mpg on the highway.
Carbon Emissions
Since these are old cars and do not have a developed engine like the recent one, their carbon emissions rate is quite high. As for this series, the cars will produce 208g of carbon die oxide every km.
Altogether, the model and the specifications of the Mercedes W202 are
